Credit Balance (Refund) Checks
If additional funds are left over after your financial aid has been disbursed and applied to the balance on your student account, you will have a credit balance. The Business Office will make a direct deposit to your bank account or mail you a credit balance check.
Credit balances are processed throughout the semester. For the earliest date you may see a credit balance, see Financial Aid Dates and Deadlines Disbursement #1.
Not every student will receive a credit balance.
Credit balance checks must be mailed and cannot be picked up at the Business Office. Checks are mailed by the Business Office to the address you have in Self-Service > User Options > About You.
Sign Up for Direct Deposit
Sign up for direct deposit so that your credit balance will be directly deposited to your bank account and you don’t have to wait for a check.
To sign up, visit Self-Service > Banking Information > Refunds, Reimbursements & Payments > View All.
Refund Check Acceptable Use
Acceptable use of your refund check includes paying for:
Your credit balance check cannot be used to purchase a car, pay for a vacation or trip, or be used towards other non-educational expenses.
